To celebrate Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s birthday, team of Chamber India participated in an exhibition based on the life of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji at Sulabh International Social Service Organisation.

Shri Ganga Prasad, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim also inaugurated Sulabh International Water Museum to commemorate Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s birthday as Jal-Shiksha-Swachhta-Sewa Diwas celebrations.

771 million people worldwide lack access to a drinking water source within a 30-minute round trip from their home. A further 1.7 billion people do not have access to basic sanitation. The United Nations' SDG Goal-6 calls for universal access to clean water and sanitation.

In 1968, Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, founder of Sulabh International Social Service Organisation, invented a two-pit pour-flush ecological compost toilet technology that is environmentally friendly and uses approximately 1.5 litres of water to flush. Sulabh toilets are a novel solution to the global sanitation crisis.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Ganga Prasad, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim in the presence of Dr. Pratibha Singh, Water & Sanitation Specialist at UNICEF India and Dr. Maheshbhai M Trivedi, Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University.

Chamber India President Mr. Abhinav Balyan met founder of Sulabh International Social Service Organisation Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak - Padma Bhushan, Smt. Usha Chaumar - Padma Shri and other warriors of sanitation from different districts of India.

Formerly a manual scavenger, Smt. Usha Chaumar- Padma Shri today serves at the forefront of sanitation. She has been actively advancing UN SDGs 1, 3, 6, 8, and 10 through her work. Her life serves as an example of what a woman is capable of when given the chance.
