On 29th August 2022, Chamber India welcomed Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands to India. As UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate (UNSGSA) H.M. Queen Máxima spearheads a global advocacy campaign to increase financial inclusion, paving the way for empowerment for everyone.

She plays a critical role in promoting global access to and responsible use of affordable, reliable and secure financial services. A key area of focus for her work is the use of responsible technology to promote financial inclusion in support of the SDGs.

Her Majesty has repeatedly stated that financial inclusion is not a stand-alone issue, but is inextricably linked to other issues such as climate change. She has also emphasized the importance of innovative and inclusive finance in building resilience for the underserved, particularly the poor, women and small farmers, who are often the most vulnerable to climate change.
