Meeting with the Ambassador of Costa Rica H.E. Dr. Claudio Ansorena

President & CEO of ChamberINDIA, Mr. Abhinav Balyan met the Ambassador of Costa Rica to India H.E. Dr. Claudio Ansorena in New Delhi to forge new collaborations with members of the chamber.

Mr. Abhinav Balyan also had a detailed dialogue with Mr. Donald Thompson, Founder of CRDC Global, centered around innovations in construction and sustainability. They also discussed potential partnership in the education sector.

India and Costa Rica enjoy cordial and warm relations, which are being strengthened by the growing commercial engagement between the two countries. India-Costa Rica bilateral trade in 2019-20 was US$175.34 million. The exports to Costa Rica were US$126.63 million while the imports from Costa Rica were US$48.71.

The main export items comprise of automobiles, pharmaceutical products, textiles and clothing, motorcycles, organic chemicals, electrical machinery, and miscellaneous products like notebooks, cables, and tires. Major imports from Costa Rica, consist of wood and articles of wood, integrated circuits and microassemblies, optical medical or surgical instruments, and to a lesser extent, nuts, coffee, tea, glass and glassware.
